Tours | Orinoco Delta

The Orinoco Delta extends over 40.000 km² and has 375 river arms that lead the water from the Orinoco to the Atlantic. The delta is very rich in wildlife. Here you have the chance to observe parrots, toucans, hoatzin birds, piranhas and caimans. The Indian tribe “Warao” lives in this region. The name “Warao” means “man with boat”.

Day 1:

Early in the morning we drive from Ciudad Bolivar or Puerto Ordaz to Tucupita, the capital of Delta Amacuro. On reaching the village of Boca de Uricoa or we can enter the world of the famous river Orinoco. Here we will be greeted by a guide and take a boat to go to the Abujene camp where we will be waiting for lunch a tour of three hours. In the afternoon we will have a boat excursion with a native guide the Warao tribe will give us a tour of some of the many canals to explore the fauna and flora. Then visit a Warao Indian community where we can see moriche handicraft products and different seeds. If time permits we will watch the sunset over the Orinoco River, enjoying a drink. Upon returning to camp our dinner will be served.

Day 2:

After breakfast we go back to the boat to go to a place where we do a walk in the forest. The guide will explain the medical effects and functions of some plants. We may have the opportunity to try water cocoa, palm tree or water. In the afternoon we will have the opportunity to swim in the river where there is a sandy beach. After piranha fishing we are going to bring to camp for dinner. Weather permitting, enjoy the sunset on the river again to the camp where we will be accompanied by the cries of parrots where we go to dinner.

Day 3:

We got up early in the morning for an excursion that took us to the different channels where we have isolated the opportunity to see monkeys enjoying their breakfast at the camp we will have time to enjoy and relax with the relaxed atmosphere of camp before returning by boat to Uricoa mouth.
