Backpacker Tours offers economical and personal Spanish language teaching in great surroundings! Whether you want to improve your Spanish or make your first steps into that language, for example at the beginning of a trip through South America, you will find proper instruction at any level you need.

The teaching during the course is very personal and flexible enough to consider each student’s individual condition. For this reason we do not accept more than seven students in each class. The aim is that every student will get familiarized with the Spanish language, whilst gaining an insight into Venezuelan culture. Our emphasis is on learning in an interesting, natural and entertaining way.

Different methods of teaching allow us to structure the lesson according to the students’ progress or interest, concentrating on special subjects or speeding up the learning. 

The course is taking place at a tourist camp, which is located about 100 km from the small border town Sta. Elena de Uairén, surrounded by pure nature close by a waterfall and a natural swimming pool. There you will be personally attended by the owners, a Venezuelan-German couple, Alfonso and Sabine, who prepare delicious meals with homemade cakes, fresh bread and marmalades.

In your free time you can explore the nature all around the place, make a trip to the edge of the table-mountain, called “abismo”, enjoying the amazing view over the green ocean of the Amazonian jungle, get a massage under different waterfalls, or even try to find some gold or diamonds. If, in addition, you want to do something for your health you can regenerate your body with relaxing activities from mud baths up to yoga-exercises.

At the same time, our small border town Santa Elena de Uairen offers diverse, contrasting landscapes such as waterfalls, flat-top mountains, jungle, savannah and the huge neighbour Brazil. All this provides a lot of interesting material for conversations and excursions. Trekking to the oldest mountain on earth (Roraima) is just one of many possibilities.
